Alfons, the third son of Frank and Katrina Kloewer Mueller, was born Apri127, 1911. He helped operate the family farm and was a beekeeper for a number of years. He sold his honey locally and through an agency in Harlan. He built up a stock cow herd and for years butchered beef and sold the meat. Alfons would help each fall with the packing and tying of cartons to be sent to the Catholic Medical Missions and Relief Warehouse.
