Frank Mueller was born June 12, 1864 and came to America in 1882. He was the son of Ludwig and Elizabeth Nauroth Mueller. Katrina Kloewerwas born February 4, 1870 and immigrated in 1880. She was the daughter Anton and Anna Teipel Kloewer. They were married January 29, 1890. They farmed northeast of Westphalia and were the parents of 12 children, three of whom became members of the Order of St. Francis and were known as: Anna-Sr. Violanda, OSF, a nurse; Frances- Sr. Bertilia, OSF, a teacher; and Catherine-Sr. Rufina, OSF, a housekeeper. The other children were: Joseph; Al, married Marie Gilsdorf, three children; and Alphonse; Cecilia, married Henry Kaufman, 10 children; Dorothy, married Joe Hahn, six children; Rose, married Henry Graeve, 12 children; Veronica (died in infancy); Marie, married Joe Henscheid, eight children; and Hilda Mueller. All the Mueller sons were farmers. Franz died April 13, 1942; Katrina died January 12, 1959.

Frank married Maria Katharina CLÖWER, daughter of Anton CLÖWER and Maria Catherina TEIPEL, on 28 Jan 1890 in St. Boniface Catholic Church, Westphalia, Shelby Co., IA. (Maria Katharina CLÖWER was born on 4 Feb 1870 in Attendorn, , NW, DEU, christened on 6 Feb 1870 in Attendorn, , NW, DEU, died on 12 Jan 1969 in Shelby Co., IA, USA and was buried in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery, Westphalia, Shelby, IA, USA.)
