Mary L. Lear, 93, of Camp Hill, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2023, at home peacefully, surrounded by family. Born December 12, 1929, in Germantown, PA, she was the daughter of the late George and Anna Isphording. Mary was a graduate of Murrell Dobbins Vocational-Technical School in Philadelphia, and was retired from Pennsy Supply where she worked for over 30 years as an accountant. She enjoyed reading, watching old movies and college football, especially Navy, feeding birds, squirrels and an occasional cat, and above all, spending time with her family. She was a past member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Camp Hill, and hosted many Isphording golf outings with her husband Charlie. Surviving are her 3 sons, Michael (Judy) Cook, Steven (Barbara) Cook, and Jeffrey (Lisa) Cook; 2 daughters, Sandra Wolf, and Kellea (Joseph) Defrank; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty (Ron) Stoops; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her husband Charles Lear; daughter Suzanne Cook; son-in-law Richard Wolf; brothers Richie, Russell, George and Kenny; and sisters Jeannette and Dolly. A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, January 28, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Ridgeway Community Church of the Brethren, 525 N. Progress Ave., Harrisburg, PA 17110, with Pastor Liz Bidgood-Enders officiating. Contributions in Mary's name may be made to Amedisys Hospice of Harrisburg West, 2708 Commerce Dr., Suite 300, Harrisburg, PA 17110. The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to the wonderful caregivers at Amedisys Hospice for their kindness during Mary's final journey from this life to the next.
