bullet  General Notes:

Naturalization finalized Feb 14, 1913 after affidavits were filed Nov 8, 1912 by James Houlahen (burgess), P.A. Madden (laborer), both of Millvale, Pa, stating that they knew Richard to have resided continuous in Penna for the required five years.

In 1994, a Russian (actually, Berezian) Shaman, Natacha Rau, in looking over Jeffrey L. Rinscheid, "saw" that Richard Anton's leaving of Germany was associated with the following (this is not substantiated, but makes for interesting future work...):

Richard was apparently in love with a girl of an "upper class" family in Germany, and she with him. But her parents could not let her marry a commoner; (this might be the source of the sorrowful "love poems" that reportedly are in Richard's diary from the military service. We never successfully had the diary translated word for word, but several reported that it was strictly sad love poems.) She became pregnant with Richard's child. (not sure of the timing with respect to the next bit)... then Richard left the country for the U.S.

Her parents were reportedly (according to the shaman) so infuriated with Richard that they sought help from a local "sorceror/witch doctor" (not sure what the German equivalent in the late 1800's would be) who put a curse on Richard that would result in (something not quite so specific as, but close) pancreatic cancer.

We don't know for sure what Richard died of. My father, Louis W. Rinscheid, reported that Richard fell during the spring of 1928 and hurt his head (?), and wasted away, eventually dying of a heart attack in late 1928. The wasting away part is consistent with cancer, as would be heart failure. (Louis died in 1995 of (probably - no autopsy done) heart failure as the result of lung cancer. (it may have been renal failure as well - we were expected either the lungs would give out, causing "suffocation", heart failure, which would be quick, or renal failure. Based on the reported peacefulness of my dad's death, per my mom - he died within 40 minutes of the hospice nurse calling me and telling me I should fly home - it seems like heart failure.)
