Donald William Isphording, 87, of Cincinnati passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, March 15, 2022. A native of Cincinnati, he was born September 9, 1934 to the late Robert Isphording and Florence Sullivan Isphording.

Donny was a family man. He was dedicated to Sally Singer Isphording, his wife of 61 years, their three beautiful daughters, Julie Isphording, Jill Isphording Dunn, and the late Jennifer Isphording Carroll, and his five grandchildren.

A veteran of the Korean War, Donny spent two years in the Army. A graduate of Xavier University and its Bursar for 30 years, he was a Musketeer through and through. He loved the school, its students, and especially its basketball team. While he only graced the halls of the Cintas Center on special occasions, he very rarely missed a game on TV.

Donny loved the simple pleasures of life: a good filet, a cold Budweiser, a Servatii's doughnut with butter on top, and an annual trip to northern Michigan, where he'd look out over the blue-green water of Walloon Lake and ponder life.

His grandchildren had trouble imagining him as the competitive swimmer he was at Saint Xavier High School, until they saw him glide effortlessly through the cool water of Walloon. Swimming there every July took him back to the glory days of his many podium finishes for the Bombers.

Along with his parents, Donny was preceded in death by his daughter Jennifer Isphording Carroll, his sister Susan Isphording Long, and his brothers Bob, Tom, and Ken "Bone" Isphording.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 61 years, Sally Singer Isphording; daughters Julie Isphording and Jill (Mitch) Dunn; son-in-law Bill Carroll (Callie); five grandchildren: Will, Ben, and Katie Carroll and Becker and Lily Dunn; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to offer our sincere gratitude to the dedicated staff of St. Margaret Hall and Amy Howe, who helped make Donny's last year peaceful, and allowed him to remain at home until his death.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 10:00 AM at Our Lord Christ the King Catholic Church, 3223 Linwood Ave., Cincinnati. Visitation will be held in the church atrium from 8:30 AM until the time of Mass.
