William Schulte was born in Bracht, Gennany in 1880. At age 11, he came to America with his parents Franz and Theresa and his sister Theresa. The family settled on a farm near Westphalia. Along with fanning, William was a blacksmith.The family moved to Frankfort, South Dakota and when his father died in 1905, William moved back to Shelby County. In 1910, he married Josephine Rosenthal atSt. Boniface Church. After their marriage, they moved to Bloomfield, Nebraskawhere their children were born: Frances, married Lee Irwin; Josephine, marriedRay Kwapiszeski; and Ellen, married Joe Stoll. William's wife died in 1914 andhe and his children moved back to Westphalia. In 1915, he married Anna Rosenthal, Josephine's sister. Their children: Lawrence, who died in infancy; John; Helen, who married Ray Carey; Raymond, who died at age one; Alice, married PhilCarey; Howard; Bernice, married Leo Feser; Theresa, married Cecil Blum; Agnes, married Leo Gaul; and Paul. William was the town's pool hall manager and a storekeeper. In 1937, the Westphalia Co-op was established by the parish and hisgeneral store closed. He and his family moved to Earling and he worked odd jobs. In the early 40's, he began operating the Earling Produce, buying cream, eggs and poultry , a business he continued until his death in 1958.

William married Josephine ROSENTHAL on 10 Jan 1910.

William next married Anna Maria ROSENTHAL, daughter of Joseph ROSENTHAL and Rosali ZIMMERMANN, on 7 Sep 1915 in Westphalia, Shelby County, Iowa, USA.
