According to US sources he died in Kentucky?? But would have been born 1812.

The Joseph who died in the US (1885) may have been his brother, Ferdinand Joseph, born 1807. But then again the birth dates (in Pickert's notes and interment data from Covington) don't correpsond. ??

Alan: Joseph first came to the US in 1836 with wife, Maria, brother Anton and cousin Kaspar. Landed in Baltimore, MD.
Maria died (1836-39) and the brother returned to Europe. Came back again to the US in 1845 (see Anselm). Landed probably in New York, but possibly Baltimore. Following father's death, settled in Cincinnati, Ohio. Joseph eventually became a businessman across the river in Covington, KY. He belonged to St. Clement Church. Died in Covington. Buried in St. John's Cemetary, Cincinnati in lot of Anton (Lot 42, Sec 1). Interred 4 November 1885. Don't believe he had any children.

bullet  Research Notes:

See general notes: seems to be some mixup between the different emigrants.

Deathrecrod: Joseph Anselm Isphording widow of Maria Anna Cremer.
So it seems he did not remarry.
