Joseph F. Henscheid (1897-1980) of Muenster, Texas, and Marie E. Mueller (1899-1985) of Westphalia, were married June 14, 1921 at St. Boniface Church. Joseph is the son of Henry and Christina Langenfeld Henscheid and Marie's parents were Frank and Catherine Kloewer Mueller of Westphalia. The Henscheids had eight children: Verena of Westphalia, married Cyril Schomers ( d. 1977); children:Michael, Mary Margaret and Marilyn;Jeron, (died at two months of age);Virgil, married Theresa Wageman, children: Mary Jane, Joe, Nick, Ed, Connie, Steve, Dan,Mike and Jeff;Urban, married Theresa Lickteig, children: Jerry , Jim, John andJoyce;Marie, married Thomas Case, children: Sharon and Sandy; Marcella (Sally) married Roman Leuschen, children:Jane, Suann, Mary Jo, Carol, Roger, Russell,Eileen, Amy and Ryan;Jane. married Leo Rau;Iona, married William Smith, children: Tim, Ron, Lil, Laura, Mary Elizabeth (died at birth), Pat, Norene and Nancy. Joseph and Marie settled in Muenster, Texas the first two years of their marriage. They returned to Westphalia where Joseph did carpenter and electrical work. He was a group member in bands for over 30 years and served as mayor of Westphalia for 25 years.


The first wedding ceremony conducted by Msgr. M.B. Schiltz was that of Joseph and Marie Mueller Henscheid. Msgr. Schiltz was present to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with them, also.

Joseph married Marie Elizabeth MUELLER, daughter of Frank J. MUELLER and Maria Katharina CLÖWER, on 14 Jun 1921 in St. Boniface Catholic Church, Westphalia, Shelby Co., IA. (Marie Elizabeth MUELLER was born on 5 Apr 1899 in Westphalia, Shelby Co., IA, died on 24 Feb 1985 and was buried in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery, Westphalia, Shelby, IA, USA.)
